Coachella Turns Its 3-Day Music Festival Into A 6-Day Extravaganza

Big news for all the hippies, hipsters, and music aficionados out there; the behemoth Coachella Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California will be splitting up its roster for two weekends instead of just one. No, your eyes do not deceive you. Released Tuesday May 31st, Coachella explains it will be taking its extravagant festivities from a 3-day weekend festival and open itself for two weekends in a row, and will have: the same line-up, schedule, and art for both weekends. If any of you have been to a music festival,

then you know this is amazing news. The LA Times reports that not only will there be two weekends for you to splurge your money for, but you can choose which weekend you want to attend, or go to both. Similar festivals in Europe use the same model like Denmark's Roskilde and England's Glastonbury. Goldenvoice, the creators of Coachella, believe that after their second year in a row of selling out only a week into ticket sales, this is a good idea so that all people wanting to attend the festival can go, unlike the ones who missed out last year. Sure, you may be asking yourself: “why is celebrity blend covering an obviously music related news story?” Other than it just being awesome news, you particular naysayer, it’s because celebrities do in fact go to this festival too. It is only 90 miles away from Los Angeles. Pop Sugar even has pictures of Katy Perry, Kate Bosworth, Alexander Skarsgard, and Vanessa Hudgens making their appearance at this desert party. Music Festivals, like Coachella, are an amazing experience. It’s a chance to be a part of the party with 100,000 other people. You can meet celebrities; two years ago I meet Aziz Ansari and Jimmy Fallon at Bonnaroo in Tennessee. As well as having the great memories of seeing your favorite bands in a massive crowd. All in all it’s a good move on Coachella’s part to split up their festival.
