US Soldier Faces New Wikileaks Charges

The soldier accused of leaking sensitive US government documents to the Wikileaks website is facing 22 new charges.
Bradley Manning is currently being held at a Marine base in Virginia while authorities investigate how State Department cables and military documents came to be published online.
The US military says the former intelligence analyst is now accused of "wrongfully causing intelligence to be published on the internet" and "aiding the enemy", which is a capital offence under military law.
The military has said it will not be seeking the death penalty. However, the 23-year-old could face a life sentence, a reduction in rank and a dishonourable discharge.
Wikileaks described the new charges as "a vindictive attack" on Manning.
Army officials said he is now accused of using unauthorised software to extract classified information, download and transmit it.
Private Manning's trial has been delayed while a panel assesses his mental state. If he is found fit to face trial, proceedings could begin by June.
World leaders condemned the publications with US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton describing them as an "attack on the international community."
