College basketball roundup

Jared Sullinger made 1 of 2 free throws with 3.5 seconds left Saturday night and No. 1 Ohio State overcame a furious rally by Northwestern to beat the Wildcats 58-57 — the unbeaten Buckeyes' 22nd straight victory. Sullinger finished with 21 points and Aaron Craft had 13 points for visiting Ohio State.
Ohio State (22-0, 9-0 Big Ten) pulled out to a 13-point lead in the 2nd half but Northwestern (13-8, 3-7), playing without leading scorer John Shurna because of his concussion, came back behind senior guard Michael Thompson. He led the Wildcats with 16 points — 13 in the 2nd half — and his 3-pointer with 3:51 left capped a 21-7 run as the Wildcats took a 55-54 lead.
The game remained tight and Ohio State's David Lighty stole a pass with 17 seconds to go, and Sullinger eventually ended up with the ball and was fouled with 3.5 seconds left. His 1st free throw hit the front of the rim but he swished the 2nd for a 58-57 Buckeyes lead. After 3 timeouts, Northwestern's Drew Crawford took a shot from near midcourt. The ball hit the backboard and bounded away as Ohio State escaped.
No. 6 Kansas 90, Kansas State 66 • Thomas Robinson, two days after his mother's funeral, shook off a slow start and had 17 points and 9 rebounds Saturday to lead the Jayhawks (20-1, 5-1 Big 12) past the visiting Wildcats (14-8, 2-5). The crowd of 16,300 came to its feet and applauded when Robinson came off the bench at the 16:47 mark. He scored 3 straight bucket in the 2nd half, putting the Jayhawks on top 55-31.
No. 2 Pittsburgh 65, Rutgers 62 • Ashton Gibbs scored 24 points as the Panthers (20-2, 8-1 Big East) avoided a 2nd straight upset by winning at Rutgers (12-9, 3-6).
Georgetown 69, No. 8 Villanova 66 • Austin Freeman scored 10 of Georgetown's final 12 points and finished with 30 to lead the visiting Hoyas (16-5, 5-4 Big East) past the Wildcats (17-4, 5-3). Villanova cut its deficit to 1 point 3 times in the final 1:15 but each time Freeman found a way to get the lead back to 3 points.
New Mexico 86, No. 9 BYU 77 • Tony Snell scored 16 points to help the Lobos (15-7, 3-4 Mountain West) end visiting Brigham Young's 10-game winning streak 3 days after the Cougars beat No. 4 San Diego State. BYU's Jimmer Fredette, the nation's leading scorer, finished with 32 points but his team dipped to 20-2, 6-1.
Marquette 76, No. 9 Syracuse 70 • Jae Crowder scored 13 of his 25 points in the 2nd half to help the Golden Eagles (14-8, 5-4 Big East) hand the visiting Orange (18-4, 5-4) their 4th straight defeat.
No. 12 Purdue 73, No. 16 Minnesota 61 • JaJuan Johnson's 24 points carried the Boilermakers (18-4, 7-2 Big Ten) by the visiting Golden Gophers (16-5, 5-4).
Nebraska 57, No. 13 Texas A&M 48 • Jorge Brian Diaz scored 16 points to lead the Cornhuskers (15-5, 3-3 Big 12) over the visiting Aggies (17-3, 4-2), who were held to 2 field goals over the final 10 minutes.
No. 66, Georgia 60 • Doron Lamb scored 19 points, including a pair of key baskets late in the game, as the Wildcats (16-4, 4-2 Southeastern Conference) won at home over the Bulldogs (14-6, 3-4).
Penn State 56, No. 17 Wisconsin 52 • Talor Battle scored 20 of his 22 points in the 2nd half as the Nittany Lions (12-8, 5-4 Big Ten) overcome a 13-point deficit in the 1st half to upend the visiting Badgers (15-5, 5-3).
Arkansas 89, No. 19 Vanderbilt 78 • Rotnei Clarke scored 36 points and Michael Sanchez added 20 points off the bench to send the Razorbacks (14-6, 4-3 SEC) to victory at Vanderbilt (15-5, 3-3).
Clemson 62, No. 22 Florida State 44 • Jerai Grant's 14 points paced the Tigers (15-6, 4-3 Atlantic Coast Conference) over the visiting Seminoles (15-6, 5-2).
Mississippi State 71, No. 24 Florida 64 • Dee Bost's 24 points keyed the Bulldogs (11-9, 3-3 SEC) in a victory at home over the Gators (16-5, 5-2).
Tennessee Tech 93, SEMO 86 • Zach Bailey's 23 points lifted Tech 11-9, 7-4 Ohio Valley) at Southeast Missouri (5-17, 4-8), which got 27 points from Marland Smith.
SIUE 78, Greenville 57 • Corey Wickware's 17 points led Southern Illinois-Edwardsville (6-18) by visiting the visitin Panther (10-7).
