Arnold Schwarzenegger to File Revised Divorce Papers, Not Denying Spousal Support

Arnold Schwarzenegger will file a revised response to his wife Maria Shriver's divorce petition on Monday that will not ask the judge to deny Shriver's spousal support, according to TMZ.
Earlier this week, Schwarzenegger filed documents asking the judge to force Shriver to pay her own

legal fees and deny her financial support.
Schwarzenegger signed the papers without reading them, in part because he was in the midst of a family medical crisis, unidentified sources told TMZ.
The revision comes in the aftermath of their son's boogie board accident.
A 911 recording captured Maria Shriver's call for help after her 13-year-old son Christopher was injured in a boogie board accident earlier this week.
"He's awake and breathing," Shriver told an emergency operator according to a recording of the call obtained by ABC News Los Angeles station KABC-TV. "He just can't move. He's having trouble breathing."
Christopher, the son of Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger, is expected to make a full recovery after suffering injuries from a boogie board accident on Escondido Beach in Malibu, Calif., on July 17.
On Friday, TMZ.com reported that the teenager has been in the intensive care unit "for days" after enduring "multiple broken bones and a collapsed lung" during a surfing accident.
"It's like a boogie board accident, I think," Shriver said on the recorded emergency call. "He can't move off the beach. Maybe like broken ribs or something like that."
According to a written Los Angeles County Fire Department statement, "L.A. County Fire responded [with] an engine, paramedic squad and lifeguards. ... A male juvenile on the beach was treated for an injury and transported to a local hospital with L.A. County Fire paramedics accompanying the patient."
Since the accident, Shriver and Schwarzenegger have been at their son's side despite their public falling out and divorce.
"A few days ago our son Christopher suffered an accident at the beach," a representative for Shriver said in a statement to ABC News. "While it has been a very scary week, Christopher is surrounded by his family and friends. He is a brave boy and is expected to make a full recovery."
A source close to the family told ABC News that the couple has been "amicable."
"The family remains very close," the source said.
It's been a difficult week for the former couple.
According to TMZ, Schwarzenegger is trying to get out of paying spousal support to Shriver and is fighting her request to make him pay for her attorney's fees. TMZ also reported that they had no prenuptial agreement. Their estimated net worth of $400 million would be split between the two of them.
Shriver and Schwarzenegger have moved on since May, when the former California governor revealed that he fathered a child with another woman while married to Shriver and the couple announced their split.
The other woman was later revealed to be Patricia Baena, a housekeeper who had worked for the family for years.
Earlier this month, Shriver reportedly bought a $10 million home a few miles from the residence she and Schwarzenegger used to share.
Meanwhile, Schwarzenegger is attempting to revive his movie career. He's signed on to star in "Last Stand" as a disgraced Los Angeles cop. The movie is due out in January 2013.

Arnie, Maria Shriver to split $400m in half after divorce

Washington, July 3: Arnold Schwarzenegger and estranged wife Maria Shriver will split about 400 million dollars after their divorce and each will take half of the property since there is no prenup between them, it has emerged.
Under California law, when there is no prenup, all earnings and other property acquired during the marriage is considered community property, which means a 50/50 split.

Maria filed for divorce Friday and the division of property is yet to be determined.
The former Californian Governor’s worth is estimated at 300 million dollars, while Shriver is around 100 million dollars, reports TMZ.com.
Since the couple has been married for a quarter century and it’s probably impossible to separate what they each had before they tied the knot, it’s likely the entire pot of money will be considered community property.
But the twist is this divorce will never go to trial. It is going to settle out of court, and nothing requires the couple to agree on a 50/50 split.

Former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and his wife of 25 years, Maria Shriver, announced Monday that they are separating.

The statement, issued by a spokesman for Schwarzenegger, said the two were working on the future of their relationship while living apart and they would continue to parent their four children together.

"This has been a time of great personal and professional transition for each of us," the two said in a prepared statement. "After a great deal of thought, reflection, discussion, and prayer, we came to this decision together."

It was not clear from the statement if either remained at their estate in Brentwood, or whom the children were with.

Schwarzenegger's spokesman, Daniel Ketchell, said he wouldn't answer questions beyond what was said in Monday's statement.

The breakup comes about four months after Schwarzenegger, a Republican, ended a bumpy, two-term run as California governor.

Since stepping down, Schwarzenegger has been travelling to deliver speeches and pursuing entertainment projects. He tweeted frequently during his travels to such faraway places as Brazil, Nigeria and France. Shriver was not mentioned in his Twitter updates from the road.

Shriver, also active on social networks, posted three updates on her Twitter page on the day of their 25th wedding anniversary, April 26, but did not mention the milestone.

About a month before the anniversary, Shriver wrote on her Facebook page that she was going through a transition in her life.

"As you know, transitions are not easy. I'd love to get your advice on how you've handled transitions in your own life," she said in a video posted on YouTube.

"It's so stressful to not know what you're doing next. People ask you what are you doing and then they can't believe that you don't know what you're doing," she said.

Schwarzenegger has said that Shriver, who is keenly attuned to the risks of a life in politics, initially was very upset about his plan to run for governor. But when Schwarzenegger announced his decision on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno in August 2003, he said his wife stood by his decision.

During Schwarzenegger's time as governor, Shriver and the couple's children never moved to Sacramento, preferring their secluded canyon estate a few miles from the Pacific Ocean. Schwarzenegger commuted by private jet between his home and the state capitol.

Their marriage in 1986 was considered a storybook pairing of the muscle-bound action star, son of an Austrian policeman, and a well-connected professional woman.

Kennedy connection

Shriver, a member of the Kennedy political dynasty and the daughter of the late Eunice Kennedy Shriver, left her job as an NBC News correspondent after Schwarzenegger took office.

In a May 2009 commencement speech at the University of Southern California, Schwarzenegger alluded to the powerful influence Shriver had on his life. He said when people ask him the secret to success, "I say, number one, come to America. Number two, work your butt off. And number three, marry a Kennedy."

As the state's first lady, Shriver ran an annual women's conference that attracted a long list of business, political and entertainment luminaries, along with an audience of thousands. She also was credited with overhauling the California Museum in downtown Sacramento and, with Schwarzenegger, starting the California Hall of Fame.

The separation announcement comes months after the death of Shriver's father, Peace Corps founder and former vice presidential candidate Sargent Shriver, in January.

Actor and former Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger and his wife of 25 years, Maria Shriver, have separated.

The Los Angeles Times is reporting that the couple confirmed the separation in a joint statement released on Monday when questions were raised about the marriage after Shriver was seen residing separately from Schwarzenegger for the last few weeks.

The statement read, "This has been a time of great personal and professional transition for each of us. After a great deal of thought, reflection, discussion and prayer, we came to this decision together. At this time, we are living apart while we work on the future of our relationship."

The statement continues, "We are continuing to parent our four children together. They are the light and the center of both of our lives. We consider this a private matter and neither we nor any of our friends or family will have further comment. We ask for compassion and respect from the media and the public."

Schwarzenegger, 63, and Shriver, 55, have been married since 1986 and the couple just celebrated their 25th Anniversary on April 26.

The couple has four children together, two girls named Katherine, 21, and Christina, 19, and two boys, Patrick, 17, and Christopher, 13.

Schwarzenegger recently announced that he had signed on to star in three films including another installment of the 'Terminator' series.

The Austrian born actor also is planning to launch a new superhero cartoon and comic book series called 'The Governator' with comic book legend Stan Lee.
