Minnesota American Idol Contestants

American Idol season 10 is underway, and in this week's show, 60 contestants will be singing in Las Vegas to hopefully advance to the next round. The closest auditions for this season were held in Milwaukee and there are several Wisconsinites competing this season. Are there any American Idol contestants from Minnesota or the Twin Cities? Here's our two local contests who will be singing in Las Vegas this week.
Caleb Hawley, a 25 years old originally from Hudson, WI (it's part of the Twin Cities metro area, right?)
And Sophia Shorai, who is 28 years and lives in Minneapolis. She's a jazz singer, professional vocalist and performs regularly at local venue. She's also notable for being the daughter of Sara Jane Olson, the former member of radical group Symbionese Liberation Army, responsible for kidnapping and murder in California in the 1970s. Olson evaded capture for 20 years, moved to St. Paul, married, raised a family, and lived a quiet law-abiding life, until her arrest in 1999.
On her bio video on the American Idol website, Sophia says "I'm absolutely in awe of my parents and their ability to not only love each other dearly after 40 years (but to) promote each other's good qualities."
American Idol airs on Fox on Wednesday and Thursday, where the numbers of contestants will be whittled down in preparation for the show's finals in Hollywood. Who will you be cheering for?
